Season 5 Trailer and Announcement!

The whole gang is here with an announcement about the show and a fresh new trailer for Season 5, which will premiere on April 28th, 2021.

  • ALDEN: Hey everybody, it's the crew of Mission to Zyxx.

    EVERYONE: Hello.

ALDEN: We have a couple of very important announcements for you today. First of all…

SETH: Important, of course, to the degree that Mission to Zyxx is important. That's what you mean by important.

ALDEN: Yeah yes, just important to us. Yeah. First of all we are announcing that Season 5 is coming up very soon and we have an incredible trailer for you that's gonna play in just a few minutes.

    JEREMY: Woo!

SETH: And before we get to the trailer, the other part of the announcement is that we've decided that season 5 of Mission to Zyxx will be the final season of the show.

ALDEN: We have just finished talking for quite a while about how to announce this, and even with that discussion, saying to you that we're ending the show after this season is– is heart-wrenching to us. We're gonna be really sad to see the show go but as weird as this may sound we're actually really excited to end the show at the same time and have it come to a close that's satisfying for us and our characters and our audience.

MOUJAN: Right. even though we're an improvised show, we still had a kind of a plan in mind.

ALLIE: And we're all familiar with the famous sci-fi series Pretty Little Liars. I was reading about how, when they started they knew who A was, but then because they kept getting extended and extended they had to keep changing the plot. And that's kind of why the whole series fell apart. And we don't want that for Mission to Zyxx.

WINSTON: Yeah. One thing that we were all talking about just now is what an incredible project it's been, and how it's kind of surpassed what we thought it could be and our dreams for it.

    ALDEN: Yeah.

SETH: Yeah. This has been an incredibly satisfying project both creatively and in terms of the fans we've gotten to meet and reach. And just hear that people care about the show and– and love the characters.

JEREMY: We also… you know, over the years have gotten a lot of really really touching messages from fans, telling us how much the show means to them, or how the show helped them get through a difficult time in their lives. And for those we want to say thank you. Those really make our day, week, month, or even our year.

ALDEN: Did you just drop a Friends reference?

JEREMY: Yeah, I don't know why I did that. Well, it's part of the show.

ALLIE: I know why you did it and I appreciate it.

    JEREMY: Thank you.

SETH: And not only do we appreciate hearing from you, the listeners, but also so many of you literally make the show possible through your support through Maximum Fun.  And before that, through Patreon, which allows us to devote all the time to Mission to Zyxx, and also just shows us that you care about it. And we owe it to you to end it in a climactic fulfilling way.

MOUJAN: Also, I just– I want to say that this isn't the end of us all working with each other. We are all, strangely, a no drama group? Like, we all like each other, which is weird–

    WINSTON: We do!

MOUJAN –and so we will continue.

ALDEN: Well, I don't like Seth very much. But otherwise-

SETH: Zoom chat you some… hate.

MOUJAN: We hope to have other stories to tell and other worlds to explore, so this isn't the end.

SETH: Yeah, right, and it's no secret that we are interested in trying to turn Mission to Zyx into an animated show–

    ALDEN: Yeah.

SETH: And who knows what other types of adaptations we could make?

JEREMY: So if any of you is a deep-pocketed animation executive we are available to talk.

ALDEN: Indeed and speaking of working together, the elephant in our Zoom room has been a little bit, like, is there gonna be a time when–when one of us can't commit to continuing to do the show? Which would be a deal-breaker for us because we love each other, we love the show, we love the dynamic we've created, and so not only were we really invested in telling a story that that had a point and an end and a satisfying conclusion, but also we wanted to make sure that no matter what happened that Zyxx was always gonna be the seven of us.

    MOUJAN: There's seven of us?

    SHANE: Wazzup?

    ALDEN AND SETH: Shane!

ALDEN: You gotta give me a wazzup.

SETH: Speaking of Shane, hopefully when you listen to the show you realize that over the seasons it has become much more ambitious in terms of sound design and complexity of scenes and complexity of the stories.

    ALDEN: Yeah.

SHANE: We haven't recorded it yet, so I can't make any promises for the quality of the ending of the show, but I'm excited to… to do an ending. To do an ending with like our full amount of power with our best ideas and like talk about that talk about what endings mean in–in sci-fi.

    ALDEN: Yeah.

SHANE: And we want to get our shot to do a good one.

    MOUJAN: Yeah.

ALDEN: We do want to reassure you that… not only is Season Give gonna be great, but it's gonna be even bigger and even better than any season that's come before it.

JEREMY: You guys don't even know what's coming.

ALDEN: Yeah, we've got some incredible guests.

    JEREMY: It's gonna be good.

ALDEN: Ridiculous storylines, and with our bi-weekly release schedule we're gonna be releasing new episodes into early 2022 so we're not ending anytime soon. So to get ourselves and you all excited, we are now going to present to you a trailer for season five. Now we have not recorded 90% of season five yet, so we are going to instead improvise a trailer for you that contains moments that… may or may not be in season five.

    SETH: They won't be.

ALDEN: Spoiler alert: they definitely will not be in season five. But we thought they'd be pretty fun. And I actually thought it might be a good idea to, you know, get us a little bit of help with this trailer. So I'm gonna dial up our good friend Jeremy Crutchley–

    JEREMY: The Crutch!

ALDEN: You may know him as the guy who does our intro voiceover crawls.

SETH: Yeah. We lean on The Crutch pretty hard in that first minute of every episode.

ALDEN: Yes. So he's probably around, it’s, you know, nine o'clock p.m. He's probably at home.

    SETH: Ring him up.

ALDEN: Shane, are we hooked up to the sound system?

SHANE: Yeah, he should be able to hear you.

    ALDEN: Okay great.

    CRUTCHLEY: Hello?

ALDEN: Hey, Jeremy, it's Alden, Alden Ford from Mission to Zyxx.

    CRUTCHLEY: Alden!

ALDEN: Yeah, hey! I was wondering, I'm here with the cast of the show and we're about to record… sort of an improvised trailer for the show? I was wondering if you might be able to–

    CRUTCHLEY: Say no more.

    (dramatic music)

NARRATOR: Every journey comes to an end.

AJ: Let's form a perimeter… one last time.

NERMUT: It's all come down to this.

BARGIE: There's only one way out and that's through… the darkness.

    [music swells]

AJ: Mr. Robot Man, what are you doing?

C-53: I'm just taking… one last look at my co-workers.

    NARRATOR: Friendships will be tested.

BARGIE: Dar. You have to do it. You have to shoot Pleck. It’s the only way to save u–

    DAR: Okay.

    [Dar shoots Pleck]

C-53: Wow, you shot him so fast.

    NARRATOR: Destinies will be fulfilled.

NERMUT: I've become a complete bird! [flapping] I'm flying. I'm flying!

ZIMA MASTER KIARONDO: [ethereal] Remember, Pleck, the space will be with you always.

PLECK: Sorry, who are you again?

ZIMA MASTER KIARONDO: It's… Master Kiarondo.

PLECK: Oh, right, right, right. Sorry.

ZIMA MASTER KIARONDO: Just… checking in.

    NARRATOR: Identities will be revealed.

    NERMUT: Karn... Balevore?

KARN: Didn't see that one coming did you?

    [transition]

    AJ: There's something you have to know… I'm actually AJ-288… 4.

    C-53: That's… what we thought.

AJ: Oh. Okay, I don't have any secrets.

NARRATOR: Questions will finally be answered.

SEESU: Which one is AJ? Which one is Rolphus?

    [transition]

NERMUT: So you have to take this red pill or this shit brown pill.

PLECK: The shit brown pill… sort of doesn't look like a pill, it's more like a...

    NERMUT: It's a pill.

C-53: That looks like a dried poop.

    [transition]

AJ: [angrily] Play the room tone backwards. Play it backwards!

MAL: Nermut. This is your son. Mermit.

    PLECK: Mermit?

    [transition]

    DAR: I've made appetizers.

    AJ: TWIIIIIST!

    NARRATOR: Lines will be crossed.

BARGIE: Dar, I can't do brunch on Tuesday. I'm sorry.

DAR: I'll never speak to you again.

    [transition]

C-53: That's right, I'm starting my own planet! I mean podcast.

    [transition]

NERMUT: Pleck, put down the sex gun.

BARGIE: Pleck, you don’t know how to use that.

PLECK: [maniacally laughing, pumping up the sex gun]

    NARRATOR: Everything has changed.

    DAR: Seesu?

    SEESU: Yes.

    DAR: It's always been you.

SEESU: Dar, it's always been you.

    [transition]

BARTENDER: Actually… we do have an orange beer. [sets it down]

    PLECK: Yeah!

    [transition]

FINNIFORD J. RYAN: Wait one second…. Thanks for paying back Finniford J. Ryan!

    [transition]

    DAR: [flaming] HAAAAACHI MACHI!

NARRATOR: On April 28th the saga starts concluding.

PLECK: Guys, we don't have a choice. We have to put on a show.

AJ: We can do it in the old barn! We've got the costumes, we've got a stage. We can do it, you guys!

NARRATOR: Mission to Zyxx. The final season on Maximum Fun.

BEANO: [somberly] What is grief if not wuv persevering?

JUCK MY NUTS GUY: Hey buddy, juck my nuts!

SHRIMP LADY: Oh no, this guy!

JUCK MY NUTS GUY: Yeah, that's right, I'm back! And I'm telling you to juck my nuts!

EVERYONE: Juck his nuts! Juck his nuts!

    [outro music]
